Testimony content:
Abstract:

Clarisse Kajyibwami Uwimana, a girl from Cellule Nyarunyinya, Muhororo Sector of Commune Mukingi in Gitarama Prefecture, describes how her family hid in the forest, a valley, and in millet and banana farms during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. Clarisse escaped with some of her relatives, and they sought refuge with family in Bukomero. After the extended family chased them away, they hid in a forest in Byimana and later the TRAFIPRO compound in Kabgayi. Clarisse notes that getting water in Kabgayi was a challenge since refugees had to draw it from a swamp that was patrolled by Interahamwe.
