Abstract:

Jean Pierre Mpayimana, a boy from Cellule Kabahazi, Ngoma Sector of Commune Mugina in Gitarama Prefecture, describes how some of the Tutsi that were killed in his commune were thrown in pits and how he escaped to Mugina Parish. He was later arrested and clubbed by a gang. He escaped and hid first in a pit and then in a forest; later, he was rescued by RPF Inkotanyi and taken to Ririma in Gashora. He also explains challenges that orphans face in post-genocide Rwanda.
