Vérene Mamandebe, a girl from Cellule Gatare, Shyogwe Sector of Commune Nyamabuye in Gitarama Prefecture, describes how gangs killed people based on the length of their noses or fingers. Although her brother was killed, Vérene survived by hiding in someone’s home before seeking refuge at a camp for internally displaced persons in Musumba.
