Berthine Uwamahoro, a girl from of Cellule Bwimo, Gasovu Sector of Commune Nyakabanda in Gitarama Prefecture, describes how she was orphaned during the 1994 Rwanda genocide. She vividly describes how and when her parents were drowned. Her family's livestock was then looted and slaughtered. Berthine concludes by describing the challenges that she has faced after the genocide ended.
