Abstract:

Marie Jeanne Mukansanga, a girl from Cellule Gitwa, Kirwa Sector of Commune Kayenzi in Gitarama Prefecture, explains how her family members escaped after their home was attacked. Marie Jeanne hid in the bush and in farms before seeking shelter in peoples' homes. She eventually fled to Zaire (present day Democratic Republic of the Congo). She concludes by explaining how some Tutsis were arrested and then drowned.
