Marie Louise Nisingizwe, a girl from Cellule Gasharu, Nyamirembe Sector of Commune Kayenzi in Gitarama Prefecture, explains how multiparty democracy in the 1990’s intensified hatred for Tutsis. She also gives examples of the insults aimed at Tutsis. After her home was attacked by a gang from Nyamirembe, Marie Louise escaped to her maternal grandparents’ home Cellule Rare. She lists the names of people she knew in the gangs that killed her relatives.
