Testimony content:
Abstract:

Marcelline Uwingabire, a girl from Cellule Kamatongo, Mahembe Sector of Commune Mukingi in Gitarama Prefecture, explains how a neighboring commune was attacked on April 24, 1994. Her neighbors were among the people who wanted to kill her family, so her family escaped to Mayebe where they were taken in by a stranger. She hid in a bush when Interahamwe arrived. With her mother, she escaped to Mushubati and learned on the way that her father had been killed. After RPF Inkotanyi took hold of Kabgayi and Byimana in early June 1994, she tells that she escaped to Byimana with her mother and 3 of her siblings and that is when they found peace.
