Abstract:

Emmanuel Murenzi, a boy from Cellule Nyarubanyinya, Muhororo Sector of Commune Mukingi in Gitarama Prefecture, provides the names of perpetrators and of his relatives that were killed during the genocide. He describes how homes in his neighborhood were set on fire and livestock stolen. He goes on to name government officials in his commune who fueled the genocide. Emmanuel thought that refuge in Kabgayi was his best chance for survival, only to find that the refugees lived under very difficult conditions. On June 2, the RPF Inkotanyi liberated Kabgayi.
