Abstract:

Lambert Mugiraneza, a boy from Cellule Kigarama, Muhororo Sector of Commune Mukingi in Gitarama Prefecture, narrates how a man who was killed in Kigali was brought to be buried by his family in Mukingi. Thereafter, his neighborhood was attacked and the initial targets were Tutsi who were teachers. Male Tutsi were also major targets and they were the first to escape and seek refuge at Kabgayi. Some Hutu came to Lambert's home demanding money or they would tell Interahamwe or soldiers to attack his home. He later managed to escape to Shyogwe to a relative's home.
