Abstract:

Sylvie Mukamanzi, a girl from Cellule Nyagahinga, Gitega Sector of Commune Mukingi in Gitarama Prefecture, describes how her father was arrested and beaten by soldiers and then saved by a neighbor who hid him and nursed his wounds. Her paternal uncle was arrested and beaten by Interahamwe; he died a few days after this attack. She also describes how her home was attacked and how she escaped to Umutara with some of her family members.
