Abstract:

Wellars Nyayisenga, a boy from Cellule Ndago, Nyahabuye Sector of Commune Mukingi in Gitarama Prefecture, lists his relatives who were killed during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. He also lists the people who killed them, the tools used to kill them, and the date and location wehre they were killed. Wellars describes how his neighborhood was attacked on April 24, 1994, and how he hid in bushes, even during rain storms. He escaped to the forest in Nyakabuye Sector and then to Kabgayi. In Kabgayi, he was put with other refugee children in an orphanage and was saved by RPF Inkotanyi on June 2, 1994.
