Abstract:

Emmanuel Habimana, a boy from Cellule Mbayaya, Mukingi Sector of Commune Mugina in Gitarama Prefecture, describes how his neighborhood was attacked and Tutsi homes were destroyed. Emmanuel hid in cassava farms but was attacked with a grenade. He then hid at the Mugina Catholic Parish. Despite the bourgumestre's attempt to protect the refugees, a gang attacked the church with grenades. Emmanuel escaped with his family to Bibungo where his father was killed.
